Charles Ramsey Reflects On The Five Year Anniversary Of Him Rescuing The Three Captive Women In Cleveland
Five years ago three women, Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight were rescued from a home they had been held hostage for up to eleven years by Ariel Castro. Neighbor Charles Ramsey noticed one of the women, Amanda Berry kicking her way out of the home when he assisted her with her escape. Ramsey let Berry use a phone to call 911 and the rest is history. Ramsey quickly became a household name, not for just helping to rescue the women, but because of his sometimes humorous accounts of the events that happened. Ramsey went on to do interview after interview and people could not get enough of his no-nonsense way of speaking on what happened.
Well, its been five years since the rescue. Ramsey says that he left behind his “celebrity” status and just wants to live his life in peace. Ramsey sat down with ABC News 5 Cleveland and NBC WKYC 3 to give an update on his life, if could go back do thing differently, and if he keeps in touch with the women he helped rescue.
