Trump’s 2012 Gas Price Tweet Just Came Back to Roast Him Into Oblivion
Back in 2012, Donald J. Trump fired off a tweet that felt very on-brand:
“Gas prices are at crazy levels—fire Obama!”
At the time, it was just another loud, all-caps-adjacent jab at Barack Obama.
But fast forward to today… and the internet just dug it up, dusted it off, and absolutely dragged it through the digital streets of X.
The tweet resurfaced—and within minutes, it turned into a full-blown roast session.
Because here’s the problem:
When Trump himself was in office, gas prices didn’t exactly stay in some magical “cheap forever” zone. And now? With gas prices constantly fluctuating depending on global markets, wars, supply chains, and about a thousand other factors… that old tweet aged like milk left in a hot car.
